Mon. 57

Monument : Ramses V-VI KV.9
Period : Dynasty XX
Reign(s) : Ramses V - VI
High Date : 1147
Low Date : 1136
Monument type : Royal Tomb
Localisation or provenance : Valley of the Kings
References : PM I, 2, 511-517; Hawass (2006).

The tomb of the two pharaohs, Ramses V and VI follows the same style as that of their predecessor, Ramses IV (Mon.56). The images are taken from Hawass (2006, 174-181). The texts are now the most important element of wall decoration. The hieroglyphs become more simplified and are in some cases quite crudely executed. Yellow signs and much yellow fill, together with the many red signs, give an overall impression of red and gold. Blue and black are difficult to distinguish. Blue is recorded in the majority of cases, except for the scarab L1 and the strokes Z1, Z2 and Z3.
